Scott and Jay were married at a private home overlooking the beach on a perfect Santa Barbara day.  They were joined by their best friends, and they all looked incredibly dapper.  I love shooting elopements, they are so relaxed and fun.  I love being one of only a handful of people to witness the joining of two souls who have loved each other so dearly for so long.  It is such a privilege.  All four of these wonderful gentlemen were so kind and easy going, they even insisted that I have a slice of cake and a glass of champagne at the end of the day.  Very much appreciated I might add.  Their delicious cake also looked uncannily like the marriage equality equal sign, which I though was just fantastic, especially because it was unintentional.

This elopement was an interesting challenge for me because I am so used to posing couples in romantic and intimate poses, or helping them to get into that space at least, but Scott and Jay only wanted simple classic poses.  I sometimes felt like I was failing them by only getting a couple variations of couples portraits, but I had to remind myself that the most important thing is to be true to the couple and get authentic images.
