Oh how I love my job. I had my first double wedding with this wedding and the next, and I was truly dreading having to be on my feet that much at 6 months pregnant. I always try never to book two weddings in a row so I can give my clients my absolute best. But with weddings like this one and the Canary Hotel wedding the next day, it didn’t matter one bit. There was such an incredible abundance of love, kindness, and gorgeous details, that the time just flew by and I felt like I was with friends, and was so privileged to capture all the special and once in a lifetime moments for my wonderful clients. Whitney and David are such a special couple and they are surrounded by so much love from their friends and family. Their wedding was wonderfully relaxed and filled with DIY loveliness. They did a fist look at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. With every first look I do I prefer them more and more and will be recommending them to all my clients. It was so special for them to have that moment away from everyone else to be with each other, and didn’t seem to detract from the moment Whitney walked down the isle in the beautiful Mural Room at all. Having the time to really focus on couples portraits when the couple was feeling deeply connected and not burnt out on photos made a big difference. Not to mention how easy it is to completely loose the time allotted for couples portraits later in the day if the wedding runs late. Whitney and David had their reception at Whitney’s grandparents house overlooking beautiful Santa Barbara. It was wonderfully relaxed and laid back. The toasts were so heartfelt and moving, and it was so lovely to see and hear about how David has taken on Whitney’s daughter as his own. The three of them are so beautifully connected as a family, it was wonderful to see. They are an incredible couple and family and I know they have a beautiful future ahead of them. Enjoy their wedding below.
